Last year I got to do the cover art for Patti Davis’ newest novel, and here’s a copy in the flesh. Really grateful for the opportunity to take this one on. Following images are the full illustration, the actual painting, and then a poor quality screenshot from when Patti was talking about the book on the Today Show. Anybody know how to save videos onto my phone???

Finished portrait of Steve Prefontaine for @stewartsc. It was a pleasure to take this on, as Stew is one of my favorite Creative Directors, who has always been generous, honest, and wonderful to work with. I’m really thrilled he asked me to do this portrait of such an inspirational figure. Plus at 36x36 I think this is the largest straight up portrait I’ve made. Shots are of the final piece, the frame (only woodworking I know how to do!), beginning stages time lapse, and the painting in its new home. Shoutout to FedEx for not damaging it en route!
